About Vietnam
Vietnam is located in southeastern Asia, bordering China, Laos, and Cambodia. Located in Vietnam's capital is the Temple of Literature, founded nearly 1000 years ago in 1070 as a temple to worship the Chinese philosopher Confucius. In recent years, the economy there has grown steadily, while the country has made strides in developing its infrastructure. Poverty and gender inequalities nevertheless persist, particularly among the country's ethnic minorities. Fifty-four ethnic groups are recognized by the Vietnamese government. Traditional craft includes basket and textile weaving, painting, ceramic, and needlework.
