About Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka, an island the size of West Virginia, is located in southeastern Asia about 60 miles south of the Indian coastline. The country has overcome great periods of internal conflict and in recent years has started seeing economic growth with increased investment in urban infrastructure. In the mountainous rural, inland areas there is still great need. A country of great cultural diversity, Sri Lankan art and architecture is influenced heavily by traditions of Buddhism and Hinduism.
