Quoth the raven, "bring me home!" This unique bird figurine is crafted from eco-friendly materials entirely by hand, making it an essential addition to your raven decor collection. This not-so-spooky raven for Halloween decorating is crafted by artisans in the Bicol region of the Philippines from buri palm leaves and buri escoba, or spines, which are shaped and glued by hand. The feet are wrapped with natural abaca twine, and the entire bird figurine is hand painted, and stands 5" h.
This raven is crafted from fibers coming from the buri palm in the Philippines, a sustainable natural resource. The buri palm produces millions of blossoms, tens of thousands of seeds, and can grow up 40 meters tall before it flowers and dies. Artisans can use three different natural fibers that come from the tree: raffia, buntal and buri. Harvesting the leaves and spines of the buri palm does not hurt the plant, and is an intensive process that often involves entire communities.
Add this raven to your Halloween decor indoors to bring a touch of the mysterious (and cute!) to mantel displays, autumn centerpieces and more.
