Each one is made from natural elephant grass, which is dyed and woven by hand by skilled artisans in the Bolgatanga region of Ghana. Due to handmade nature, color and shape may vary slightly.
Reshaping your Bolgatanga basket: Our artisan partners fold this basket in order to ship more efficiently. To remove creases and restore its shape, dampen basket with a spray bottle or other water source, or by submerging in water for 1 minute. Let it rest for 5 minutes to allow grass to absorb the moisture and become pliable. Bend and press the basket into shapedon't worry, it won't break. Allow it to air dry before use and enjoy your beautiful handwoven basket from Ghana!
