About Kenya

Kenya is located in Eastern Africa, bordering the Indian Ocean, between Somalia and Tanzania and is home to dozens of ethnic groups, a diversity of landscapes, and many wildlife and national parks. Unemployment and underemployment rates are high, and although Kenya's overall economy has seen some growth in recent years, stronger economic development has been impaired by weak governance, declining tourism, and corruption. Agriculture remains the backbone of the Kenyan economy. Traditional crafts include Maasai bead jewelry, handwoven grass baskets, and carved soapstone.
