Indonesia

Located in southeastern Asia, Indonesia is found between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. Indonesia is now the world's third most populous democracy, the world's largest archipelagic state, and the world's largest Muslim-majority nation. While many are familiar with its lush tropical forest, few understand the effects of major industry on Indonesia's land and people. Artisans and farmers have struggled with inadequate infrastructure, unequal resource distribution, corruption, and illegal logging and mining practices for years. Indonesia also has an especially rich and varied tradition of textile design, including batik printing and weaving.
